Another group of slaves

History is repeating itself. Americans are treating a whole generation of human beings as though they were "less than" persons of value. Certainly we learn from history that the African Americans suffered at the hands and policies of white slave owners. They were considered less than human. Slaves were property; owned and controlled according to the slave owner's need.
In the US we have struggled to change this view and some have even died for the cause of equality for African Americans.
Women in our country also were considered property, the struggle for the vote, equal pay and human rights continue. Again, women were considered property of the husband.
Now the generations of unborn are suffering death at the hands of women and men who do not believe in an unborn child's person hood. The fetus is considered property of the mother.
The lives of these innocents certainly are equal to the others who have been freed in America.
The idea that the growing human being inside the woman is part of the mothers body is not scientific.
The child is being housed and fed by the mother. It is a separate human being. Once again as with blacks and women the argument is that these children are not persons. There is no argument that they are human beings. The argument is that because they are not ascribed the value of a person then they can be treated as property and destroyed. Statistics show very few abortions are to actually save the life of the mother. The value of the human being inside the woman is determined by the woman only. Careers, money, self esteem etc etc; all can be used as reason for determination. The scary thing is that most know that the fetus is a human being; it is now considered appropriate to say that a woman owns that human being as property.
Is your value determined by your size, your growth, your mind, your physical appearance?
What do you use to assign person hood to another?
